Recycling Overview
What Is Accepted For Recycling?Mixed Containers (Blue lid): Place glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and tubs #1 through #7, metal cans and metal lids in the cart under the blue lid.
Paper (Grey lid): Place newspaper, mixed paper, and small cardboard pieces in the cart under the grey lid.
Cardboard, Used Motor Oil And Filters: Cut large cardboard into pieces of 3' x 3' or less and place next to your recycling cart. Put used motor oil and filters in approved containers provided by Foothill Disposal and set next to your recycling cart. Drivers will manually collect large cardboard, used motor oil, filters, and household batteries.
Household Batteries: Place used household batteries in a bag provided by Foothill Disposal and set on top of recycling cart.
Extra Recycling: If you have extra recycling you can order a larger cart, or an additional cart. Split recycling carts are available in 64 and 96 gallon capacities.
Yard Waste: Yard waste collection is provided in a 64 or 96 gallon cart. Extra yard waste toters are available. Call Foothill Disposal for a larger or additional extra cart.
What's Not Accepted For Recycling?
Examples are: plastic bags, plastic wrap, pizza boxes, milk/juice cartons, planting pots, frozen food boxes, meat trays, foam packaging (blocks and "peanuts"), aerosol cans or any paper item contaminated with food.
When And How To Set Out Carts:
Please set out your garbage, recycling and yard trimming carts in the street by 6:00 a.m. on collection day and remove them no later than the next day. Place carts at least 18 inches apart on the street by the curb. Store the carts behind a hedge, fence or other area screened from street view as a courtesy to your neighbors.
Extra Collection Services:
Residents can schedule three "On Call Plus" clean-ups per calendar year. Each clean up allows for the pickup of up three bulky (large) and bagged or boxed items not to exceed 4ft. x 4 ft. x 8 ft.
